One of our volunteers spotted these 4-5 month old pups at the Sardis Ball Park, where they had been abandoned and living for weeks, probably eating way too many hotdogs. They never left the area, even though the gate was open. They are really good lookin' pups!, we are guessing Shepherd/Lab mix. They're nice, look to be healthy and friendly to everyone they meet.

We sent out pictures of them and a plea for foster homes, and guess what? We got some help! Thanks to new foster Mom,  DeniceAnother pup is going to Sierra, and the last one, is going for a trial run with an adoptive home!  Wow!

Since they were country girls, we named them after country singers: Martina, Shania, Faith and Reba!

As you often hear, one thing leads to another....

There is a church on Sardis, near the ball field, where we discovered a sweet black and white, rat terrier Mom with two beagle/rat terrier mix pups. They are very sweet and friendly, came to us and let us pet and handle them. All are about 15# and in need of rescue as soon as possible. We left food, water, wormed all and applied Advantage for fleas. Diana going there every day to see about them until we find help.

The mommy terrier is named Mütti - an endearing German term for Mommy. The puppy with the spot on her eye is named Pixie because she loves to pose for the camera and have lots of "Pix" of her taken. The other puppy is such cuddler and such sweetie pie, she is named Sweetie Pie.

Several days later,  Diana discovered that these dogs had no water because someone had confiscated the water bucket and to make matters worse, they were beginning to chase cars. All this was just too much for Diana so she took them home with her. With their other dogs and cats this is more than can realistically handle; in other words Diane and family are bursting at the seams. Foster homes are still desperately needed.

Update:  We have had one foster Mom come forward to help.  Beth W. took one of the pups to foster.  We still need a foster home for Mutti and one pup.
