Two weeks have passed since OOTW rescued these dogs & pups!
We have lots of great news to report!

Thanks to YOU, all of these dogs & pups will get everything they need to become healthy before they are adopted into loving homes.
YOUR generous gifts to OOTW are making the difference for all of them!
All of us with OOTW are so grateful to you for your generosity, kind words and encouragement.
We can only do this with your help.

Zeus aka Bruce, found a foster home with Jennifer, one of the wonderful staff members at Pinnacle Valley Animal Hospital. Bruce was given pain medicine and antibiotics to help his wounds heal prior to having surgery on his hip. Last Wednesday, Dr. Cole Bierbaum performed FHO surgery on his left hip, basically removing the head of the femur in order to allow the joint to heal in and form a new joint.  Bruce did great with surgery and Dr. Cole says he should have a complete recovery without disability. The day after surgery, Bruce was putting weight on that leg and giving everyone kisses.  He is truly a precious boy who deserves to be cared for and loved for the rest of his life. We will make sure that his next home is the right home for him!

Gidget looks nothing like her Mom but I bet you can guess who the daddy is!  Bruce???
All is well with the Moms and puppies, too. Lilly, the Dachshund Mom, had so many pups that we worried whether she would be able to continue to feed all of them as they grew. Gizmo aka Bea, she is precious!, the other Momma dog, was already helping her out, so we split the pups between them. Bea was moved, along with four pups, to be fostered by Debbie and Michael. Chelsea has kept Lilly with the remainder of her pups. Lilly has been posted on the website along with her pups, and we have already had lots of interest! It won't be long until all have a new & loving adoptive home.

ALWAYS KNOW that YOU have made a difference for these little ones in need!
Thanks again to all of you for your infusion of LOVE into our midst!
We know that you careabout what happens to this group of dogs and puppies,
and we will continue to update you on their progress.
We are still accepting donations to help the Germania Road Project.
Please give to help us help them.  Thanks so much!

THIRTEEN dogs/pups RESCUED!
OOTW found yet another situation in which our help was urgently needed

Recently OOTW volunteer Chelsea, took supplies needed to help three women living in poverty with their 13 dogs/pups. The family was coached about caring for their Dachshund, Lilly, and her eight, two-week old Dachshund/Pug pups and Bea, a small Wirehaired Terrier mix and her two-week old pup.

The Daddy dogs are both Pugs and we only found out today that one of the males, Zeus, was being allowed to suffer without treatment after being struck by a car over week ago!  Zeus was immediately taken to Pinnacle Valley Animal Hospital, when it was discovered that he was unable to walk and obviously in a great deal of pain. X-rays revealed a right hip dislocation and pelvic fracture in addition to the wounds on his leg that are healing poorly. Dr. Cole Bierbaum has recommended FHO surgery to remove the head of the femur, and he expects that Zeus should make a full recovery if this operation is done. Zeus is young and healthy otherwise.

After days of encouraging these folks to care for their pets, it was obvious that they were unable to do so. OOTW volunteers felt there was no other solution but to remove these dogs/pups from their neglectful situation if they were to have a chance at survival.

YOUR HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED!
OOTW is unprepared to finance this project. To curb costs, OOTW volunteers will provide the vaccinations and worming for each pup, but each will cost at least $200.00 to be fully vetted, that's a total of $2000.00, IF they stay healthy.  The two Mom dogs will also need to be fully vetted and Zeus, who's medical bills could easily exceed $1000.00!  The total cost of this project will exceed $3220.00, and OOTW's funding is already low.
OOTW truly truly needs YOUR help NOW.

WE NEED FOSTER HOMES...

Zeus is being boarded in quarantine at Pinnacle Valley Animal Hospital.  He needs a foster home that will give him all the love and care he needs now and through his surgical recovery.  Please consider being a foster home for Zeus.
We need help with one of the Mom dogs and pups. YES, it is alot of work, but any foster Mom will tell you, it is equally rewarding. They are tiny now, their little eyes are not even open, but they will grow into playful, romping pups who will be adopted to wonderful homes.

Please Donate!
